The bong is back! London's Big Ben chimes once again

Big Ben in London chimed once again at 09.00 GMT on Thursday morning, after falling silent on August 21 due to repairs to Elizabeth Tower in which it is housed.

The famous bell is being tested throughout the day by the Westminster clock makers, who are trying to make sure it strikes at exactly 11.00 GMT for Armistice Day commemorations on November 11.
